Sandra Morales called. You had quoted her yesterday. She wanted to add herself, and her car to the policy, which I did. She will call back for the quotes. She wants to look at $250 and $500 deductibles. I suggest that whatever car her daughter is one, we use highest deductibles.

Also, I told her she might be money ahead to do a renters policy, and pick up the account discount. You could give her that info too. I will put in your inbox.

I am wondering if it might be possible to have you create a file in our file cabinet for "pending closing".

What happens occasionally is that someone will send us "evidence of insurance request". We go ahead and make the change to the policy, and then the closing never happens. Sometimes these loans fall apart at the last minute. The problem is that no one bothers to tell us that. So now we have an incorrect mortgage co on the policy, and the correct one doesn't get the billing notice at renewal.

I propose that we create a file called "pending closing" ---we put policies with a change of mortgage pending in that file. Once the closing date has passed, we contact the mortgage co to verify that the closing has occured...and then, we go ahead and make the change.

If you think this is workable, will you please do it, and then help to train the rest of us on how/when to use the file? Thanks,VM

Darla called for your today. You might give her a  call back. She is the customer who Karen called us about (conference call) yesterday. Basically what is happening is the customer is trying to get their premium back on their home.   (DP policy)

They sold the home a year ago, and for whatever reason, the policy was never cancelled. Sometimes home office will cancel a policy back a year, as long as the customer can provide proof that the home was indeed sold. I believe that Karen is saying the paperwork proving the home was sold is in the DP policy file, or is the paperwork that was dropped off for us yesterday.

We will need to coordinate with h/office and get the documentation to them so they will go back  a year. It might not be a bad idea to contact Bobbi Jo, tell her what you are tyring to do, and see what instructions she might have.

I will bring you a copy of a check the customer brought in the other day to pay for their brokerage policy. We e-mailed Lezette several times, and never got an answer, so we sent the check to them. Finally, they call and say the check has to be made out to United.

I called United directly and they said to get a new check, and then call United with the new check number to prevent cancellation, and then mail the check directly to United Fire.

Will you please follow-up on this?

Hi Dominique:

I will bring you a copy of an 'appraisal' of an older car. On older cars, we do 'stated value' when the customer wants to be sure to get a certain amount out of the car if it has been restored. Usually, we have to give the vehicle a 'classic' usage in Fast Pass. THen, we have to send a copy of the appraisal to home office, or keep in the file (I never remember which) ---you could call Cheryl in Delta to verify.

 If you could please make this change,  (add full coverage to the 1955 Oldsmobile which is already on the policy cS216013) I would appreciate it. You can use $500 deductibles comp and collision.

Scott came in today for his annual review - thanks for sending the letter. Could you do me a favor please and help me with the review follow-ups?

I will put the file and notes on your desk. Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

Basically, the changes are as follows:

1) delete animal collision and drowning

2) Remove business pursuits (liability endorsement)

3) Change UFPP (see worksheet). Please let me know the increased premium before submitting the change. He wants to know. And one important thing is that he has a John Deere baler that needs to have evidence of insurance sent to John Deere. He said that was supposed to have been done last year. I couldn't see that it was....Probably the best thing to do would be to call Delta Implement Company here in Montrose. Ask for the credit department. Find out the lienholder address for John Deere credit and where to send evidence of insurance. Then, please send it before they charge him for the extra insurance.

Once the changes are done, please send me our usual follow-up letter outlinining the changes that were done.

Dana: This is the one where we were doing a change (adding a 2000 chevrolet) in Progressive. She however wanted to remove a vehicle too. Can you please be sure to call Jaime and follow-up to see which one comes off?

Also, if I remember correctly, you had been speaking with them about life insurance. You might double-check your recent quotes for life...might be a good opportunity to follow-up with her on the life while speaking to her about the autos. Thanks, VM

We need to re-write Peggy Lyon's policy to Western Ag. (It is with Progressive right now). However, she wants to leave the Ford Taurus off. Can you please re-write this for me? I will put on your desk a report called cross sell report. This report details customers who have home policies, but no autos. Also those with autos, but who have no home policy. It is used for us to try and "cross-sell" those customers who have one policy only.

The report is not entirely accurate. It erroneously shows people who do in fact have both policies. It also does not take into account those who have policies through Progressive or Western Ag.  I have tried to edit the report to correct some of these shortcomings. My editing is not unfortunately going to be 100% accurate, but this is a good list to work with when things are kind of "slow". Keep it handy and work on it when you can. Thanks, Vally

I'll put those files back on your desk.  I spoke with Ed. He wants to insure the 1973 Hillcrest as owner-occupied. The other one does not need insurance. I quoted him the quote per your note which was correct! He is mailing us a check for the down payment. We should probably fax him a Foremost app to sign. I don't know where to get a blank app...possibly from their website. The blank app we have in the file is for a rental mobile home. If you have any questions, just let me know.

I will put an email from Wag in your inbox. THey are saying Peace has to get her own policy if the mcycle is in her name only. I suggest that we have her add her father on the policy.

Please ask Joey to do that. Notify W/ag. See what kind of documentation they are going to need in order to keep her on the policy.

Since winter is almost here, she may just want to wait till spring before beginning a policy.

I will bring you paperwork. Suzie Sellers has two DP policies. One she needs to cancel, the other no. For the one that is cancelling, please do not submit the paperwork until after the anticipated closing date of October 2nd...sometimes these closings don't go through at the last minute. So keep it in your pend file and call her on 2nd or 3rd of Oct before submitting.

Please check her other policy to see what is going on there. I don't recall if it is mortgagee paid or owner paid. Please let her know. Keep me posted. Thanks!VM

Joey recently started a Western Ag policy for her son. The policy started with two motorcycles on it. One is a high-dollar Ducati, and the other is a just liability older motorcycle. She just got her policy and she is wondering why the older, cheap motorcycle has a higher premium than the new one. I can't remember...did we put the son as the only driver? If we included the Dad, maybe we put the Dad as the driver on the expensive one. If the son is the only driver on the policy, then I don't know. You may have to view the policy online, or call Western Ag customer service to get some answers. Then, please call Joey at her work. The number should be in Contacts. Thanks, Vally

I am putting a copy of Kirk's Progressive policy in your inbox. He is on 'paid-in-full' billing status, which is what he wanted until he added a new full-coverage truck to his policy. Now they want all of the premium upfront which he doesn't have. Could you please look into switching him back to Farm Bureau. Do a quote and see how it looks. You can call him at 240-8113. if we switch, we'll need to have the Progressive cancelled. Either have him call them, or get him to sign something if we cancel for him.
